Re-Register DLL's

Post by gwtiltman » Fri Jan 17, 2014 5:17 pm

If you are experiencing "Registered Component Failures" etc, you can re-register all the dll's and system components.

This should only be done as a last resort and should this not resolve the issue a clean install of the operating system is recommended.

Open a command prompt (for most of you, you can simply click the Start Menu, then go to All Programs, Accessories, then click Command Prompt).

Type the following, and press enter:

Code: Select all

sfc /scannow
Re-register all DLLS

In the example below, I point to System32. If you’re using a 64-bit computer, change directory to syswow64.

Code: Select all

cd windows
cd system32
for %1 in (*dll) do regsvr32 %1 /s
for %1 in (*ocx) do regsvr32 %1 /s
