Irontree: Failed to Create Snapshot

Either run the plugin again and uninstall and reinstall the VSS plugin

if the problem persist please feel free to read the solution below.

This error is being reported from your Operating System. Our software uses Microsoft's Volume Shadow Copy Service (or VSS) to manage open files.

Your VSS component is not initialising correctly at the time of the backup, hence the Errors and Warnings...

We are only ever really concerned about this error if there are Skipped files in the backup...

But it is obviously better if we can resolve the error...which comes in a few forms...

An error occurred preparing VSS for backup: Unexpected provider error
VSS could not be started and was disabled

You may try to resolve by doing the following...

Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services...
Right click on Volume Shadow Copy and go to Properties...
In the General Tab, please check that the Startup Type is set to Manual, and that in fact, the Service has started...

If you are logged on as an Administrator, then in the Log On Tab, you can confirm that the Log On is set to Local System (as below).

If you are not logged on as an Administrator, then you can set the Log On to the Administrator account, provided you have the Administrator password to your machine. Apply and OK…

If you still experience these errors after the above steps, your IT Support will need to look at the Microsoft Operating System component of VSS through the Microsoft Event Logs to determine the issues and to troubleshoot further.

If the log is reporting no skipped files, the backup will still be good…. e.g. Message: 22:32:33 Skipped files: 0

Hope this helps !
